Hi from Walking Legends! We take people hiking in the most beautiful areas of North Island.
Walking Legends guide Jamie knows the Lake Waikaremoana Track well, as shown with this dare-devil jump. Where's he gonna land?
The guides love to find new spots, great views and any excuse to stop for chocolate!
This lookout is a secret spot tucked just off the main track, with the best views of Lake Waikaremoana and Te Urewera National Park.
On a clear day you can even see the snow-capped mountains of Ruapehu and Tongariro.
The Lake Waikaremoana Track is one of New Zealand's nine "Great Walks", however its remote location means it doesn't have the crowds like the other great walks.
With just 6000 visitors per year, compared with the Routeburn's 30,000, it's easy to find your own secluded bay for a swim in the cystal clear waters...
Lose yourself in the still misty mornings...
And be the first in the world to see the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean from the top of the mountains...
Walking Legends run trips to Lake Waikaremoana weekly from October to May, with fun guides and small groups. Explore and enjoy this untouched corner of NZ wilderness with us.
Join a small group & genuine Kiwi guide on our hiking tours of North Island's largest National Park and Lake Waikaremoana Great Walk. Multi-day or short walks through magical "goblin" forest, spectacular views & remote wilderness areas.
