Why we think Northland is Best Seen from the Air

We at Salt Air have a saying that "Northland is Best Seen from Above". Read on to find out why...

We find that we don't need to say much to illustrate why we think seeing the Bay of Islands and Northland from the air on a scenic flight is the best way to see and experience it....luckily photos tell the story effectively to illustrate just what you can see if you're thinking of visiting the Far North of New Zealand.

From the Bay of Islands to Whangaroa Harbour, Karikari Peninsula, Doubtless Bay, 90 Mile Beach, Cape Reinga, Parengarenga Harbour, Hokianga Harbour...the list goes on of the magnificient coast line we have to offer.

Here are some "practical" reasons why we think fixed wing and helicopter scenic flights are a great option:

• Much of Northland is not accessible by road. Northland has a considerable coastline, much of which you can't get to by driving, especially the best bits...
• If you are short on time flying will let you see it all without the long road trips. Lots of people visiting New Zealand always comment that they wish they had more time to see what they want.  A good example is Cape Reinga - no matter what, it is a long drive on inland roads, but it's so worth a visit, so think about our Cape Reing Fly/Drive Tour - an amazing half day trip you'll never forget. We can even fly you on a day trip from Auckland if you can't get up to the north to stay (which you should try and do!).
• You see different things you can't see any other way. From the air flying over the coastline of Northland is an incredible experience - from the turquoise waters of the Bay of Islands to the white silica sands of Parengarenga Harbour theres no other way to see it.
