Halfpipe, slopestyle and big mountain skiers compete in the largest multi-discipline open freeski event in the southern hemisphere. Attracting skiers from across the globe, the event is internationally recognised alongside the world’s biggest freeski events.

The stunning Remarkables ski field and the world-class terrain of Snow Park NZ are the venues for what will be the eighth year of the competition. In one of the few freeski competitions in the world to remain an ‘open’ event, 140 amateur and professional athletes from Europe, America and Australasia will meet on an even playing field to battle it out on the slopes of New Zealand’s South Island.

The Remarkables ski resort is home to versatile terrain and is perfect for beginner skiers and families, as well as offering challenging slopes for the more experienced skier. One of New Zealand’s premier ski resorts, it is conveniently located 15 minutes from Queenstown. Snow Park NZ, situated between Queenstown and Wanaka, is perfect for both pros and those new to the slopes, and features on-snow accommodation, a restaurant, ski rental and snow school.

Nestling below the slopes, Lake Wanaka is the ideal base for winter activities including skiing and snowboarding, cross-country skiing and heli-skiing. However, Wanaka is also known for its year-round activities such as fishing, hiking, canyoning, climbing and skydiving.

Lake Wanaka itself is 193 square kilometres of crystal clear blue waters, which are enjoyed by jetboaters, sailors and kayakers alike. With its stunning mountain backdrop, café culture, fine restaurants and range of accommodation options, Wanaka provides all the winter or summer visitor needs.
