Rhythm and Vines Music Festival – Gisborne

The Rhythm and Vines music festival is the ultimate New Year experience. Be one of the first in the world to see in the New Year as you party with 30,000 people in the lush green hills and vines of Waiohika Estate in Gisbourne. With over 100 acts on five stages, this three-day festival is a must-do.
The festival focuses on eclectic and forward-thinking acts, and attracts kiwi and international superstars, and up-and-coming bands and artists. There are unique camping options available on Gisbourne’s beaches or within the vines, and entertainment ranging from interactive art installations to amazing pyrotechnics.
Coromandel Gold – Coromandel

Tickets for Coromandel Gold, the ultimate music destination of the kiwi summer, are like gold dust, with over 10,000 tickets selling out within a few days every year. The two-day celebration of music and summer is set three kilometres from Whitianga town centre on the Coromandel, in the lush surrounds of Ohuka Farm.
There are plenty of camping spaces available and buses run to the festival from Whitianga and local beaches. The festival features plenty of bar and food options, and is guaranteed to be the golden ticket of the summer.
La De Da – Martinborough

Set amongst the beautiful vineyards of Martinborough in the Wairarapa region, La De Da boasts an impressive musical line-up, fine wine and gourmet food. The two-day festival, held over New Year, gets bigger and bigger each year and features New Zealand and international bands, artists and DJs.
The official campground of La De Da, Lullaby Lane, is near all the action, making it easy to get to the festival and back to your tent each night. Martinborough is one of the best wine regions in New Zealand, and is easily reachable from Wellington.
Homegrown – Wellington

New Zealand music is celebrated in style on Wellington’s waterfront at the Homegrown festival. Kiwi music’s biggest day gets bigger each year, proudly showcasing the best of homegrown musical talent. The event is held over six stages set along the picturesque waterfront in the kiwi capital city, with each stage having its own musical flavour, from Pop, to RnB, to Electronic.
Homegrown, which sells out each year, transforms the waterfront into a festival playground, with attractions including breakdancing competitions, a food market, street performers, interactive activities, art installations and sculptures, and Wellington’s best graffiti artists.
