Jack Osbourne, Adrenaline Junkie II

Jack just can't get enough of NZ!

Following up from his incredible first visit, Jack returns to New Zealand for some more adrenaline-filled adventures for the second series of Adrenaline Junkie.

Jack’s extreme passion for New Zealand originates from our country’s ability to send people screaming beyond their comfort zones. In amongst the craziness of walking a single strand of rope between two rock faces (slack lining), bungy jumping from a helicopter and climbing the ladder of doom up Queenstown Hill, he had to help five recruits find enrichment along the path of pain and fear, just as he once did.

When Jack and his team marched into Queenstown, they were looking for the ‘ultimate time’ - a collection of potentially life-changing (and possibly life-threatening) experiences set in an oh-so-beautiful landscape.

During the first week of filming, Jack and his team focused on slack lining, an activity that isn’t usually available to the general public. However most of their other hair-raising adventures can easily be slotted into a bold and daring New Zealand itinerary.

Queenstown quenches the thirst for adrenaline

When you arrive in Queenstown, it’s easy to see why this part of New Zealand is so rich with opportunities for adventure. Massive mountain ranges, frothy white water rivers and glacier-carved lakes combine to make an awesome arena for extreme pursuits.

Like Jack and his recruits, you can go river surfing or hike to an overnight camp in the mountains. You can also embrace iconic Queenstown experiences like jet boating, paragliding and canyoning. A real toe-tingler, thoroughly enjoyed by Jack and four of his team, is The Rungway - a Via Ferrata system with 12 heart-pumping climbing routes up Queenstown Hill.

Jack and two of his recruits enjoyed a unique bonding experience during a three-man bungy jump off the historic Kawarau Bridge. AJ Hackett bungy jumps can be found throughout New Zealand, including the Auckland Harbour Bridge. And while heli-bungy was a special creation for Jack’s television show, helicopter flights are a fantastic way to get an eyeful of New Zealand’s best scenery.

Other adventure hotspots around New Zealand

Other New Zealand regions can tempt you with unforgettable soul-stirring and side-splitting adventures. In the far north there’s big game fishing and dune surfing; Rotorua and Taupo are geothermal towns where you can mix spa pleasures with sky-diving, zorbing and jet-boat racing; caving’s big in Waitomo; at Mount Cook, mountain hiking and climbing can show you the roof of our world; and you can do flips in an authentic Tiger Moth in Southland.

Jack has the last word

"I think New Zealand has a unique way of life; I think if more countries were like New Zealand, the world would be a better place."
