They believe our pristine wilderness, attractive cities, friendly people and nerve-shredding adrenaline sports were the reasons New Zealand made it to the top spot. New Zealand Tourism Minister Damien O’Connor, says the survey results are an authentic assessment of New Zealand’s tourism quality because the information came directly from customers. ''An award like this is a great accolade for New Zealand and for our hard-working tourism industry,'' says Mr O’Connor.
The United Kingdom is New Zealand’s second largest market, contributing more than 300,000 visitor arrivals over the past year. The Telegraph will print a 24 page supplement on 8 December 07, highlighting New Zealand and other category winners. New Zealand also won the Telegraph reader awards for best destination in 2004 and 2005. |
