Olive Groves of Waiheke Island

A taste of Italy can be found at one of Waiheke’s olive groves.

There is more to Waiheke than just beaches and vineyards. The island is also home to some excellent olive growing areas for you to visit.

Jeryl and Howard Alldred are the founders of a company called ‘Waiheke Wild’, which produces olive oil of excellent quality. So excellent in fact, that the couple produced more than 30,000 litres of olive oil last year alone. The oil is high in phenols, which are the antioxidants giving the oil its health-giving properties.
