"It gives you enough comfort and an extra dose of freedom, with the opportunity to get as close to nature or as far away from nature as you like," Thomas Bartling says.
Put simply, "it’s the best way for couples or families to travel New Zealand."
Burkhard Vorlander, the director of the ‘Voxtours’ show said, "You don’t hear the word ‘no’ very often, in fact you hardly hear it at all. It only seems to exist in combinations like ‘no worries’ and maybe this is why so many other great movies were filmed here.
"And you don’t have to be from the movies to appreciate the incredible range of spectacular scenery that you find on these two islands."
Diving in the Coromandel, trying zany creations at the Hokitika Wild Foods Festival, driving amongst some of New Zealand’s most beautiful landscapes, and throwing themselves off The Skytower - were just some of the things that made up their New Zealand adventure...
Auckland
Home to a population of more than one million people, Auckland represents the largest urban city in New Zealand and is recognised as having the largest concentration of Polynesian people in the world.
Auckland lies across an 11 kilometre wide volcanic isthmus separating two harbours - the Waitemata and Manukau - and is a water lover’s paradise, with what is believed to be the largest boat ownership per capita in the world. In the Maori language, Auckland is known as Tamaki Makau Rau, the maiden with 100 lovers. It earned this name because it was a place desired by all, and conquered by many.
Rotorua
Rotorua is the spiritual home to the Maori of Te Arawa, and is set amidst crystal-clear crater lakes. Here you will experience nature’s earth forces, bubbling mudpools, spouting geysers and hot water beaches. Rotorua offers a diverse range of experiences that will enchant, pamper and excite.
Wellington
Nestled between a harbour and forest clad hills, Wellington has national treasures, galleries, museums, boutique shopping, and a large café and restaurant culture. Wellington also has wildlife and nature attractions on its doorstep. Its compact size makes the city an easy place to walk around, yet its cosmopolitan flavour, gives the sophistication of a big city.
The festival has arguably the wackiest selection of cuisine in the world. It is here you will find worms, seagull eggs, purple Maori potato, mako shark, emu meat, manuka smoked wild pork, whitebait, ostrich meat, octopus, eel, mutton bird, paua (abalone) and crayfish (lobster). All the food is lean and organic. Experience a celebration of the wild West Coast’s lifestyle, food and hospitality.
Christchurch
An English city, Christchurch has beautifully preserved gothic architecture, tree lined avenues and the Avon River. Bordered by hills and the Pacific Ocean, it is situated on the edge of the Canterbury plains stretching to the Southern Alps. Much of the city has been set aside for parks, natural reserves and recreation grounds.
