The town of Thames has a rich history. Here you can walk through a gold mine, watch a stamping battery crush rock and try gold panning.
From Whitianga you can enjoy the beaches and boat excursions of Mercury Bay. This town is home to a fishing fleet - expect great seafood!

Towns

Once a wild colonial gold rush town, Coromandel is a place to enjoy Victorian architecture, arts and crafts, beaches and forest walks.
If you’re thirsty, pause for refreshment in Paeroa. This town is the official birthplace of Lemon & Paeroa, New Zealand’s home-grown soft drink.
Tairua and Pauanui are great places for a summer holiday. There are harbour and surf beaches, forest walks and plenty of fishing opportunities.
