Seasonal Tips

DURING YOUR VISIT

Visit the Dunedin Botanic Garden, Oamaru Gardens or Glenfalloch Woodland Gardens for stunning spring displays. View the little blue penguins at Oamaru’s penguin colony. Wait until late afternoon to see them coming home from a day’s fishing. Fish for salmon in Otago harbour or trout on one of Coastal Otago’s many rivers. Stretch your legs up Baldwin Street, the steepest street in the world. Check out the newborns on Otago Peninsula – fur seal and sea lion pups; penguin and albatross chicks.
