The Oamaru i-SITE Visitor Centre is open 7-days. The friendly staff at the i-SITE can help you with all your holiday planning needs from bookings for accommodation and travel to providing your with up to date information about activities in our district.
While in Oamaru visit the Yellow eyed and Blue Penguin colonies in the evenings, take a guided walk of our historic town, enjoy one of the Oamaru walkways, visit Whitestone Cheese or the Whisky distillery. Travel south and visit historic Totara Estate, take part in a tour of Macraes Gold Mine and visit the Moeraki Boulders. Drive to Mt Cook (3 hours) via the Vanished World Fossil Trail incl Maori Rock art & Elephant Rocks, and the scenic lakes of the Waitaki Valley on State Highway 83.
