Drive a circuit around the top half of the South Island on this six-day adventure. Nelson is a great place to shop before you head over the hill to Takaka. When you’ve explored the fabulous beaches and walking tracks of the Abel Tasman National Park, depart for the west coast. Enjoy the surf and driftwood scenery on the way to Punakaiki’s Pancake Rocks, then visit the historic town of Greymouth. The Lewis Pass takes you through beech forest to the hot pools of Hanmer Springs. In Kaikoura you can have a close encounter with whales. Enjoy lunch at a winery in Blenheim before you complete the loop to Nelson.
