New Zealand is a country with endless road tripping possibilities: camper van rentals are easy, and you’ll have a wide variety of accommodation if you’re looking to mix it up along the road. Our backpacker accommodations are top notch and our beautiful national parks are just waiting for you set up camp and chill out. Feeling like a homestay or farmstay to talk with the friendly Kiwis? Not a problem. Looking for a flash hotel to reward yourself at the end of your roadtrip? We got those too. (And we won’t tell anyone).

On newzealand.com you’ll find suggested driving routes, travel times and distances, maps, and of course all the activities you’d like to do along the way.

Last summer, STA Travel and Roadtrip Nation sent three teams of American students on inspirational road trips throughout New Zealand, the youngest country on earth. With endless miles of stunning scenery as their backdrop, the teams drove their campervans through New Zealand where they had interviews with inspirational people, and explored the open roads on their own.
