Explore Kauaeranga Valley and the Coromandel Forest Park

Walk along the Kauaeranga Kauri Trail, or hike up to the Pinnacles for spectacular views.

Coromandel Forest Park, in the North Island, offers opportunities to explore relics from kauri logging and gold mining eras. There are numerous tracks including Kauaeranga Kauri Trail.

Base yourself at one of the Department of Conservation (DOC) campsites, many of which are located in the Kauaeranga Valley.

Take the popular overnight hike to the Pinnacles Hut, and on to the Pinnacles with spectacular views of the Coromandel Peninsula.
