There is an endless list of things to do in Queenstown to fill your rest day, from adrenaline-fuelled adventure activities to family fun and relaxation.
Eat & Drink
Queenstown is packed with cafés, restaurants and bars in which to eat and drink away your rest day. Vudu Café is a popular brunch venue with arguably the best coffee in Queenstown.
For something more substantial head to the Speight’s Ale House for lunch and try a selection of their best local beers. After lunch if your tired ski legs will allow it walk across the road to 1876 Bar and Restaurant for the cheapest drinks in Queenstown and kick back for the afternoon.
Go for a walk
If you feel like stretching out those weary legs take a walk along Lake Wakatipu and enjoy the breath taking views.
For something more challenging you can hike up Queenstown Hill . Despite only being 500m this walk is a serious climb but once you get to the top you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of Queenstown and the surrounding area.
Skyline Gondola and Luge
If you’re keen to check out the views of Queenstown and surrounding areas but your legs aren’t up to a hike, jump on the Skyline Gondola. From the top of the Gondola you’ll see the best views in the region.
Once you’re at the top you can catch the chairlift to ride the Skyline Luge, a non-motorised cart for a blast of downhill fun.
