Woodlands features a large colonial dwelling constructed in 1872 as a manager's residence for a 98,000 acre estate. It has been lovingly restored to its original grace and charm and is surrounded today by 15 acres of gardens.
The estate highlights the radical transformation of the low-lying Waikato landscape after the third New Zealand (or Waikato) War.
