Art in a Garden is an unique three and a half day event celebrating the joys of bringing art and sculpture to a garden gallery. It is a moving experience to find a wonderful piece of sculpture set in right place to enhance what the sculptor had in mind. There will be emphasis on many cultural aspects of our lives and fun activities for children all designed to foster an interest in the arts.

Hawarden is just an hours drive from Christchurch, through the wonderfully successful vineyard area of Waipara. The Weka Pass with its easily recognizable limestone formations en route, and finally an intermountain valley and plain surrounded by the Southern Alps. It is on terraced riverbed country that Flaxmere is farmed, and over 40 years, Penny has created a 7 acre Garden of National Significance, nominated by the New Zealand Garden Trust. It will be here that 50 - 60 artists and sculptors, photographers, and potters will exhibit.

Thursday 29 October 4.30pm to 7.30pm; Friday 30 October - Sunday 1 November 10am to 5pm.
