The Meridian Season of Don Quixote
31 Oct 2008  - 08 Nov 2008

The Meridian Season of Don Quixote
In celebration of Sir Jon Trimmer's 50th year with the Royal New Zealand Ballet, we are thrilled to present the Meridian Energy Season of Don Quixote. This new commission pays tribute to one of New Zealand's most loved performers. Set in Barcelona, this exciting new production is staged and choreographed by Gary Harris and Adrian Burnett to music by Ludwig Minkus.

Based on Miguel De Cervantes' classic novel, Don Quixote de la Mancha, it is one of the great comedic ballets of all time. Join Sir Jon (Jonty) as he takes to the stage as the raddled old Don on his journey of dreams, loves and conquests. Along with his trusty sidekick Sancho Panza, the irrepressible Kitri and the rest of the Royal New Zealand Ballet Company, this is an adventure you will not want to miss.
