Trials is an exciting form of cycling with riders traversing extreme obstacles in six seperate trial zones - skill, talent and the all-important balance gene are well and truly on display.

Tension rises as the riders complete each zone - one slip could lead to penalty points or event disqualification... It's spectacular and entertaining.
You can get really close to the action and so it's very spectator friendly. In 2009 the event will be right in the heart of town with trial zones close to the shores of Lake Rotorua. They'll be within walking distance of the host hotel, the Novotel, and the world famous Ohinemutu Village and easily accessible for spectators. It's the fifth and final round of this year's UCI World Cup series and just a week after the 2009 UCI Worlds in Canberra Australia, so expect a very strong field, especially from the European powerhouses of the sport.
