Mita Bay Loop Track

Surrounded by bushland and with ocean views, this walking track will make for a fantastic experience.

Start at Sullivans Bay and take the steep track up to Tunguta Point, then onto Mita Bay. Return along the road to Sullivans Bay.

What to expect:


Walking tracks will:

have easy to moderate grades with drained surfaces, generally consisting of a compacted and drained surfaces.
be well sign-posted with directional signs at track entrances and junctions and have safety signs where required.

Walking tracks may:

have steps on excessively steep areas.
have timber boardwalks and bridges over permanent wet areas and waterways.
have seats and maintained views at areas of interest.
Walking tracks should be suitable for people with reasonable fitness levels.


Distance:2.0 km       Time:2.0 hours          Wheelchair access:No            Pram access:Yes - reasonable pram access across the grass. Not suitable when ground conditions are wet.


How to get to Mahurangi:
Mahurangi West Drive north on State Highway 1. About 6km past Wenderholm Regional Park, turn right into Mahurangi West Rd then right into Ngarewa Drive and follow to the end of the road. Scott point Take State Highway 1 to Warkworth and follow the signs to Snells Beach. Approximately 1km past Snells Beach turn right into Ridge Rd and follow to the end of the road. Mahurangi East - has no road access. Access is by boat only.
