Please check in 15 minutes prior to the tour start time at the Sanctuary Visitor Centre to confirm your arrival. Dress warm for the days forecast and bring a waterproof layer. The weather can be unpredictable at times and we highly recommend being ready for all conditions. Each child under 14 must be accompanied by one adult (1:1 ratio). Due to uneven terrain and low visibility, this tour isn’t suitable for prams or wheelchairs - please contact us to further discuss options
Customers will receive a full refund with at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation. Full refunds are also provided in case of cancellations due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. No-shows will be charged the full price.

Your journey begins at the Sanctuary Visitor Centre where our friendly, knowledgeable guides will brief you and provide an introduction about the sanctuary will welcome you before leading you deep into the forest. Under the cover of darkness you’ll walk under towering trees, hear the rustling of nocturnal wildlife, and feel the forest awaken. Listen for the haunting call of ruru and if you’re lucky, the call of kiwi pukupuku. Along the way, you’ll encounter the magical bioluminescent glow of our glowworms - a truly enchanting sight. This unique night-time experience is limited to just 10-12 guests per tour.
