Children are welcome in private sauna sessions only when accompanied by an adult. Communal sessions have a minimum age of 12 years, and guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Watershed offers a small sauna for up to six guests and a large sauna for up to fourteen guests, available as communal sessions at $59 per person or private hire ($299 small, $699 large). A full pontoon buyout for up to twenty guests is available ($999). Swimwear is mandatory and only water is permitted.
Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session to receive a full refund or reschedule. Cancellations within 24 hours of the session start time, or no-shows, will be charged in full.
Watershed is a floating sauna and cold plunge experience on Lake Whakatipu, inspired by Nordic sauna traditions and framed by Queenstown’s alpine landscape. Each 75-minute session allows 60 minutes for guests to move between deep, dry heat in Finnish-style saunas and invigorating lake-fed cold plunges, supporting relaxation, circulation, and mental clarity. Two floating saunas are available for communal or private sessions, making the experience suitable for solo travellers, couples, and small groups.
Located just minutes from Queenstown’s town centre yet feeling calm and removed, Watershed offers a relaxed, unhurried environment designed to be enjoyed year-round, with uninterrupted views across the Lake and surrounding mountains.
