Free farm tour for stays of 4 + nights. We love welcoming families Ripples Retreat is a magical place for kids to explore Both cabins sit beside flowing water and are unfenced, so children must be closely supervised by a sober adult. If you’re bringing children under 4 years, please contact us before booking. No pets, parties, smoking or vaping. Two-night minimum; 3–5 nights on long weekends, summer holidays and Easter. Single-night stays may be available last minute and between bookings.
Cancellations made 21 days or more before arrival are fully refundable, though we always prefer to rebook you - no one should miss a stay at Ripples Retreat. We recommend purchasing travel insurance for unexpected changes.
River Song Cabin sleeps 4–5 in a studio with a king bed, (double & single in a separate nook). Set beside the Mangaotaki River & framed by limestone cliffs, it’s designed for slow, unhurried stays. Perfect for Honeymoons & small families. Swim, fish or kayak, wander farm tracks, then soak under the stars in your outdoor bath. Many guests choose Ripples Retreat as their first, last or only - stop in New Zealand. Just 2 ¾ hours from Auckland Airport, it’s an easy, peaceful base for exploring Waitomo Caves, Hobbiton and hidden local waterfalls. We’ve even created a 10-day itinerary of our favourite off-the-beaten-track adventures so you can relax, plan easily and simply enjoy the magic of Ripples Retreat. Then return home relaxed & inspired.
