Forest bathing, (Japanese: shinrin-yoku; German: Waldbaden) has originated in Japan and is now practiced across the globe to reconnect people with nature. While you won’t be asked to take your clothes off, you will rather immerse yourself in the living, breathing atmosphere of the forest with all your senses. Imagine pausing to notice the dappled sunlight, the rustle of leaves, the scent of mossy earth, the texture of bark, and even the taste of fresh air. This practice is an invitation to slow down, let go of your busy thoughts, and focussing on the here and now. Embark on a gentle walk through Aotearoa New Zealand’s indigenous forest in the heart of the Bay of Plenty, crafted to deepen our connection with the natural world.
