Marlborough is home to the legendary Queen Charlotte Track, a 71km journey through native forest with ridgeline views of the Sounds.
The full-length hike can be completed in three to five days, or the track can be accessed where it meets the road if you want to just walk for a day or two. There are several Department of Conservation campsites along the route, as well as the option of having your pack transferred between points to lighten your load.
