Collecting in Travel Planner

Travel Planner allows you to collect activities, accommodation, scenic highlights, transport providers and towns/cities. Early in your planning you may choose to collect lots of options then narrow down your choices as you make decisions. To help you organise your choices you can sort your collected items by type and by location or view them on a map.

If there are parts of the www.newzealand.com site you'd like to visit later, use the "bookmark this page" feature of Travel Planner. You can take your bookmarks between computers by signing in each time you use Travel Planner. The Travel Planner bookmarks will not be included into your browser bookmarks or favourites.

If you want to have a play with Travel Planner on www.newzealand.com then you can use Travel Planner anonymously. If you are planning your trip in detail we recommend you save your Travel Planner for future use on www.newzealand.com. To save your Travel Planner you will need to create a profile and sign in each time you visit.

The Travel Planner Calendar

The Travel Planner calendar lets you drag and drop collected activities, accommodation, scenic highlights and places into a calendar.

You can also create notes for yourself and drag them into days.

As you drag an activity, scenic highlight, accommodation or location into your calendar you will see the location for that item appear. Travel Planner offers route recommendations to help you get between the locations you want to visit. Just click the "Transport from …" link to find the air, rail, road and sea options to help you get from A to B.

The Travel Planner map is a great way of making sure you see the whole country. You can see all the things you've collected on the map. Once you put items in the calendar you can choose "map calendar" to see where you are spending each day and the possible routes you could take.

Getting help from a travel partner or airline

If you'd like help with booking from a travel partner or airline you can make contact with an expert on New Zealand, with or without a completed Travel Planner.

If you've made a Travel Planner you can share it with a travel partner with experience of New Zealand and they can assist with bookings. Travel partners can help you book accommodation, activities and flights to New Zealand. They can also arrange a rental car; book rail, bus or ferry tickets and provide flights within New Zealand.

An airline can sell you flights to New Zealand but cannot provide other bookings. The airline won't receive your Travel Planner.

If you haven't made a Travel Planner you can still contact a travel partner or airline for help. Just follow the simple steps to explain your requirements and they will contact you within 3 business days.

Using Travel Planner with and without Flash

Travel Planner is best viewed with Macromedia Flash 7 or greater.

Without Flash you will not be able to see your Travel Planner collection on a calendar or map.

Install Flash to get the most out of Travel Planner.
