Starting the tour in The Octagon, learn about the amazing buildings that survive in the centre of town. Discover Ōtepoti Dunedin's Māori and Scottish roots, why the Scots came here and how they transformed a little colony of Britain into a thriving city dealing in trade and commerce. As we walk around the city we'll talk about: The Railway Station, the old prison, a couple of old steam engines and how they survived to be considered antique. The Presbyterian First Church and the hill it's built on, a few statues - some loved and some not so much, the banking district and the "Tartan Mafia", Dunedin's oldest pub and Speights Ale House.
Be sure to ask lots of questions - your guide is a born and bred Dunedin local.
