Thyme Hill Vineyard was established in the early nineties of last century, first owner John Kelly planted Merlot vines on a north facing sandy hill on the out skirts of Alexandra in Central Otago. Now almost 30 years later Thyme Hill is still the only vineyard in Central Otago that grows Merlot. Since 2011 Thyme Hill is owned by Inge Diks, an ex-dairy farmer from the West Coast. Inge loves growing grapes and producing a product reflecting soil and climate. Offering wine tasting on the deck overlooking the vines is a fantastic way of discovering the aromas, flavors and complexities of Thyme Hill Merlot and Thyme Hill Rosé. When you come for wine tasting at Thyme Hill you will be hosted by vineyard owner and grower Inge.
