We’ve personally mapped our favourite adventures within an hour of Ripples - from Hobbiton to hidden waterfalls and beaches.
Ripples is located on an 870-hectare sheep and beef farm, and we often have animals in the paddocks surrounding the cabins, including pet lambs in spring.
Regularly named the best fishing in the Waikato by our guests. You can fish from the bottom of the garden at Ripples Retreat.

Free farm tour for stays of 4 + nights. We love welcoming families — Ripples Retreat is a magical place for kids to explore! Both cabins sit beside flowing water and are unfenced, so children must be closely supervised by a sober adult. If you’re bringing children under 4 years, please contact us before booking. No pets, parties, smoking or vaping. Two-night minimum; 3–5 nights on long weekends, summer holidays and Easter. Single-night stays may be available last minute and between bookings
Cancellations made 21 days or more before arrival are fully refundable, though we always prefer to rebook you — no one should miss a stay at Ripples Retreat. We recommend purchasing travel insurance for unexpected changes.
