Free farm tour for stays of 4 + nights. We love welcoming families - Ripples Retreat is a magical place for kids to explore! Both cabins sit beside flowing water and are unfenced, so children must be closely supervised by a sober adult. No pets, parties, smoking or vaping. Two-night minimum; 3–5 nights on long weekends, summer holidays and Easter. Single-night stays may be available last minute and between bookings.
Cancellations made 21 days or more before arrival are fully refundable, though we always prefer to rebook you — no one should miss a stay at Ripples Retreat. We recommend purchasing travel insurance for unexpected changes.
Ripples Retreat offers two handcrafted riverside cabins - River Song, which sleeps 4 and Cascade, our 2 bedroom cabin, which sleeps 6 — ideal for families or couples travelling together, with space to retreat. Set on a peaceful farm, each cabin overlooks its own private river pool, with outdoor baths, full kitchens and separate living spaces. Guests can kayak or stroll between cabins, making it ideal for two - three couples wanting time together, without losing their own space. “We planned three nights… and didn’t want to leave.” A perfect base for exploring Waitomo, waterfalls, beaches and nearby Hobbit™ filming locations - without needing to repack each day. Stay 4+ nights and enjoy a complimentary private farm tour.
