Water Buddy if customers lack experience.
Trips to Whanuakura Island are conditional and dependent on weather and sea state. Due to safety at sea policies, trips can be cancelled at any time. Trips will be rescheduled or a full refund will be given. Customers must be capable of water based encounters, be physically capable and have the ability to remain calm in a water environment. Full T&Cs are on our booking form.
Cancelation occurs when we have a large sea state and / or strong winds are present or forecast for the location. Pedal and Paddle reserve the right to deny a hire / trip to anyone, if a team member raises safety issues.
Pedal and Paddle unlocked the experience and have safely assisted (water buddy) visitors to Whenuakura Wildlife Sanctuary, for the last 20 years. The picturesque turquoise lagoon can only be accessed via kayak or stand up paddle board. Explore at your leisure or go with our experienced staff to ensure your safety. We are using our modern New Zealand made Viking Kayaks. Trips operate year round from Beach Access 15 - Hinemoa Street and can be tailored to suit. Our sunrise / sunset trips are highly recommended, conditions allowing. Bookings are essential.
