South Auckland and East Auckland - it's Time 2 Go!

Arriving at Auckland Airport might be the only glimpse some get of this region, but when you get under the skin there's more to do than you might expect.


To the south of Auckland central is the city of Manukau, where visitors can enjoy activities as offbeat as walking through a butterfly house and visiting a worm farm, or soak up the multicultural delights of Auckland's largest market, at Otara. The city also boasts New Zealand's largest theme park, Rainbow's End. For a break away from the hustle and bustle, visit the Auckland Botanic Gardens in Manurewa or Ambury Regional Park.


Tour through rural south Auckland on the steam-powered Glenbrook Vintage Railway, relax in New Zealand's largest natural mineral pool at Miranda Hot Springs, watch the rally driving action at Pukekohe, visit the zoo, go mountain biking or hiking in one of Auckland's largest tracts of native bush, or relax with a picnic by the Hunua Falls.
