About
Renwick Museum tells the story of the early settlers and characters of the pioneer town of Renwick. It was populated mostly by Scottish immigrants in the early days who arrived at the port of Nelson and were invited here by Dr Renwick, the founder of the town. Nowadays the town is located at the centre of the Marlborough wine district. The museum also houses the Olga Watson memorial library, built by Herbert Watson, a school teacher in memory of his wife. The library contains a wealth of historic teaching books and is a unique insight into the books children grew up with in the 30's, 40's, 50's in New Zealand.
