Minimum passenger numbers apply. Heli Glenorchy reserves the right to upgrade passengers or merge flights for operational reasons or flight management purposes if required. Flights are weather dependent. Weather checks are to be made one hour before departure, and where appropriate, Heli Glenorchy will offer alternative options. Occasionally flight paths or landing locations may alter at the pilot’s discretion.
Any cancellations made within 24 hours of departure will incur a 50% cancellation fee. If no notice is given and passengers ‘no-show’ for the flight, we will charge 100% of the fare. Cancellations made by Heli Glenorchy do not incur any charges.
The adventure begins with the Earnslaw Burn Encounter, departing Glenorchy for sweeping views of braided rivers and rugged peaks. A close flyover of the hanging Earnslaw Glacier leads into the dramatic Earnslaw Burn basin, surrounded by sheer rock and ice, a cinematic Middle‑earth™ landscape. After the flight, enjoy a light lunch at Mrs Woolly’s before making your way to the Dart River base for the Wilderness Jet. This two-hour journey along the braided Dart River ventures deep into Mount Aspiring National Park, with guides sharing Māori stories and local history. Smooth glides and signature jet spins add excitement to the stunning scenery.
