East by West reserves the right to cancel ferries due to adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. Public buses run from Days bay back to Wellington City so passengers are always able to get home in the unlikely event of ferry cancellation.
The trip across from Queens Wharf to Days Bay takes approximately 30 minutes. On the trip out, you will have great views back to Wellington City and really get a feel for what makes Wellington and its harbour, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, so special. Days Bay is a seaside town in Wellington harbour and is home to popular beaches, bush walks and cycling trails, art galleries and beach front dining options. Return on any of our scheduled departures and on the way home make the most of the onboard bar and enjoy a drink on the top deck.
