We have a no smoking and/or drinking policy during any of our stargazing tours. We reserve the right to refuse admission if a participant is intoxicated or under the influence of illicit substances. In this instance, no refund will be given. All children must be under the supervision of a parent or guardian to ensure minimal disruption to other guests. We reserve the right to cancel or alter any tour or price at any time.
An admin fee of 8% is non-refundable for any refund given. Akaroa Stargazing will provide a full refund (less admin fees) or credit for cancellations if made more than 24 hours prior to your tour. We reserve the right to charge 100% for no-shows. Should Akaroa Stargazing cancel a tour for any reason, such as inclement weather, Akaroa Stargazing will provide either a full refund (less admin fees) or will reschedule at your option.
Discover the cosmos while exploring the picturesque village of Akaroa on this unique 2-hour guided walk, just a scenic 90-minute drive from Christchurch. This is a must-do for active travellers and families. This walk starts at our Akaroa Stargazing Space (2/8 Rue Balguerie) and follows a scale model of the Solar System, using 3D-printed planet props, culminating at the iconic Akaroa Lighthouse. What to expect: The only tour combining a scenic guided walk with a tangible, scale model of our Solar System.
Enjoy unique commentary blending scientific knowledge with rich Māori perspectives on the cosmos. Conclude the walk with a safe and engaging observation of the Sun using two solar telescopes. Available in Italian or French upon request.
