What Happens on Cloudy Nights? Stargazing depends on clear skies, but if weather prevents outdoor viewing, our Astro Guide will contact you directly to offer three options: 1. Reschedule: Move your booking to another available night during your stay. 2. Cancel for No Cost: Cancel your reservation with no cancellation fee after being contacted by your guide. 3. Participate in our "Touch the Stars" Experience: Join us for an engaging indoor program in our wine cellar and observatory.
You may cancel your booking up until 24 hours prior to the experience start time and date at no charge. If you cancel within 24 hours of your booking time and date full payment will be required. In this case, you authorise payment from the credit card provided at time of booking. We may need to cancel your stargazing experience in the event of bad weather (snow and/or ice, rain or extreme winds) or if stargazing conditions are compromised by cloud cover.
Your 90-minute experience starts in the warmth of our boutique wine cellar with a glass of fine wine or a tot of whiskey for adults, paired with house-made chocolates. Transition into the observatory for a guided tour of the southern night sky. Using green lasers, our pier-mounted 9.25" Celestron SCT telescope, and smart telescopes, your guide will navigate you through constellations, planets, glowing nebulae, and distant star clusters. You will also experience hands-on science activities, learn about light pollution conservation, and view our fireball tracking cameras.
