Beautiful Historic 1886 Heritage Listed Villa, now a luxury Bed and Breakfast Lodge.
Room 58 with a gorgeous lace draped 4 poster bed and ensuite. We call it the honeymoon suite, but anyone would feel special relaxing here.
Choose a complimentary cooked breakfast, shown here, Poached egg with Bacon and Avocado on a Hollandaise covered Hash.
The grand hall is 3 metres wide and as long as a cricket pitch. Lit by European chandeliers it has a fine collection of paintings and taxidermy.
Room 57 has a large well lit ensuite bathroom with shower and bath - a favourite for brides and if it’s raining we are happy for you to fill it to the brim.
The breakfast room is all set up for a candlelit breakfast with a roaring fire. Full cooked options, whiskey butter porridge, toasts - including gluten free are complimentary with lashings of tea and coffee.
The Lodge is across the road from the Heritage 1 listed National Bank of New Zealand and next to the owners accommodation in an 1910 relocated villa. The village store is to the left, and I can pop out and get wine and return before anyone notices.

Pheasant Lodge is a stunning Bed and breakfast created from ann 1886 Heritage NZ grade 2 property. The former home of the Paparoa Kauri Mill owners, it has only ever had 2 owners. With eclectic Victorian antiques, and English wallpapers, described as like stepping into a "storybook". Full cooked breakfasts are served candlelit in front of the fire in Winter, and outside on the terrace in summer. Set in 1 acre, there's plenty of places to chill and relax. With 3 Double rooms with ensuites, this is a special place. Relax in the media room with a complimentary Port and unwind. Book the entire place for your wedding, or guests, or just a relaxing romantic getaway or elopement.
