About

Our Museum provides rich history and celebrates life around the harbour. The stories are told with a wonderful collection of graphics, displays and videos that will keep you interested and engaged. So allow plenty of time.

Stories tell of an epic battle of the Maori wars, lost gold still waiting to be found from the second world war, secret gatherings of heavy machinery to defy government regulators and a look at our local natural history around Mangawhai and its harbour including the fight to save the critically endangered fairy tern.
