Founded in 1864 by Frenchman J.D. Féraud, Monte Christo Winery is the birthplace of Central Otago wine. Today, the estate is home to a historic Cellar Door, premium tasting experiences, educational winery tours, guest cottages, and Fritzy, our onsite food trailer. Our wines are crafted from 100% estate-grown fruit sourced from vineyards across the Alexandra Basin, Bannockburn and Pisa subregions. Farmed using sustainable practices and made with a minimal intervention approach, they reflect the diversity and character of Central Otago. Located just outside of Clyde and only 400 metres from the Central Otago Rail Trail, Monte Christo Winery offers wine, food and hospitality in the heart of Central Otago.
