Stewart Island is an undiscovered, unspoilt eco-tourist destination with golden beaches and bays, breathtaking landscapes and a generally slower pace of life. The island was given national park status in 2002 forming the Rakiura National Park. After taking off from Queenstown, journey in comfortable leather seats with uninterrupted views out either side of the aircraft with full commentary. Enjoy views of Southland and Foveaux Strait before landing at the airstrip. Once on the island, the trip can include activities such as Ulva Island eco-sanctuary tours, fishing charters, cruises, short walks or guided tours of the township of Oban. Return the same day by plane, or spend a night on the island to include an evening kiwi-spotting tour.
