Sir Bob Charles, on playing Kinloch for the first time, stated "Having just played Kinloch for the first time I can honestly say this is the # 1 golf course in New Zealand. For those unable to play the great links courses of Scotland, Kinloch compares with the best of them. A true links experience with Jack Nicklaus at his best."
A must-play on any golfing itinerary for visitors to New Zealand, Kinloch is a world-class championship design from top golf course architect Jack Nicklaus (18 times Major winner).
Located in the central North Island, Kinloch is easily accessible from all the main centres, including Auckland (3 hour drive), Rotorua (55 minute drive), Wellington (4 hour drive) and is only a short distance from Taupo.

Signature hole
When asked this question, Jack Nicklaus noted that there were no signature holes as all of them are! However, The Par 5, 16th is often regarded as a key hole with its four options on the second shot. If long enough off the tee, you can either go for it in two or chose one of the three fairways approaching the green.
