Entry is strictly by ticket only. The astronomy tour is weather dependent. On occasions we may need to cancel the event at short notice (due to weather). If this happens, you will receive an email prior to 7pm notifying you of cancellation and a full refund will be given.
If you are not able to attend, you can request a refund up to 7 days before the event starts, but refunds or re-bookings are not available after this time, unless the event has been cancelled by weather.
Christchurch Astro Tours are proud to introduce you to the southern night sky. Operating from a location a mere 30 minutes south of central Christchurch, we start our night with a short talk, before showcasing the highlights of the evening with a sky tour. After which you are free to observe the nights objects through the telescope (which uses high quality optics) and ask questions. Our local dark sky tour guides are keen stargazers and can talk you through the various delights of the southern night sky. Depending on the night you may view the moon in detail or observe planets or if conditions allow, see fascinating nebulae and galaxies.
The astronomy tour is aimed at visitors to Christchurch and their families and is weather dependent.
