Once darkness falls venture out with an experienced guide to see Southern Brown Kiwi - Rakiura Tokoeka, in its natural habitat. The Rakiura Tokoeka is the largest of the five kiwi species. At Beaks and Feathers we are truely privileged to be able to show our guests these iconic birds.
Beaks and Feathers has exclusive access to private land where kiwi come out to forage under the cover of darkness.
Meet in Halfmoon Bay at the Beaks and Feathers booking office, before being taken on a short van ride to private land.
From here it is an easy walk along flat ground.
The tour lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours.
