It is important that you are agile and able to step on and off the Segway with ease. Please wear comfortable flat shoes. Helmets are provided. You must be over 13 years to go on this tour. For technical reasons the Segway Personal Transporter has a weight restriction of between 45 (100lbs) – 120kgs (265lbs). Our primary concern is to give you a safe and enjoyable tour. Therefore the route and extent of tour participation is at the discretion of the tour guide.
Tours are cancelled and refunds given only in extreme weather conditions. Tours proceed if it is only light intermittent rain. Cancellation for any other reasons must be received 24 hours before the tour commences.
The views of Auckland City and the Hauraki Gulf will wow you as you glide around the summit of North Head/Maungauika. You’ll learn new things about one of Auckland’s most treasured historic reserves which protected Auckland against the perceived Russian invasion of the 1880s. Park your Segway up and take a stroll through the tunnels and bunkers to get up close to the ‘Disappearing Gun' installed in 1887, have time to put the Segway through its paces at a local park and cruise back to our base on Devonport Wharf through the back streets of the village to admire the amazing Victorian architecture. Can you think of any better way to explore this unique, historic and geographically significant landmark than by zooming around it on a Segway?
