The Edwin Fox Ship and Visitor Centre is a great little find, recently visited by the NZ heritage minister for its historical signifigance!

Built in India in 1853, the first 40 yrs The Edwin Fox was kept very busy with convicts/ immigrants/ soldiers and tea and beer trading routes before it arrived in Picton, unknowingly never to leave again! The Edwin Fox Society was formed in 1965 to save the ship from a watery grave (it was to be sunk as a dive wreck) and bought the ship for a shilling!

Come step aboard and see what life would of been like...try a traditional game of quiots...have a go at knot tying... try out our replica bunks...great photo opportunities....we are children friendly... a great wet weather day activity!
