For the 10am Essential Wellington Walk, the walking route is not wheelchair accessible. For the 9.30am Heritage/Cable Car Walk the walking route is not recommended for guests with limited mobility. Some points of interest on both walks may not be open for viewing at weekends or public holidays.

The Essential Walk departs 10am daily from the isite Visitor Centre 111 Wakefield St at Cuba St. It covers Wellington's waterfront, downtown, courts and parliamentary areas in an easy walk of two to two and a half hours. This walk finishes at Old St Paul's Cathedral in Mulgrave St, allowing you time to further explore the city. Cruise ship and independent guests can book a 3 hour heritage walk including a trip up on the cable car, then a downhill walk through Wellington Botanic Garden and heritage areas. This 9.30am walk commences and finishes at the cruise ship shuttle drop off point in Lambton Quay.
