We understand that plans can change. Cancel more than 24 hours before departure for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours, including no-shows, are non-refundable. If illness prevents you from joining, please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll consider the circumstances fairly. Canyon Explorers may need to change or cancel a trip if weather, water levels or other conditions make the experience unsafe/unable to operate. If so, we’ll work with you to reschedule or provide a refund.
Set out from Queenstown on a scenic drive beside Lake Wakatipu, through Glenorchy and into the remote Routeburn Valley in Mount Aspiring National Park. Surrounded by UNESCO World Heritage wilderness - and close to landscapes used in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit - you’ll enter a spectacular canyon of waterfalls, clear pools and sculpted rock. Abseil beside rushing water, jump into crystal-clear pools, zipline above native bush, move through narrow passageways and slide down natural rock chutes. Lunch, hot drinks, transport and all specialist equipment are included. This adventure suits guests with a high level of fitness and confidence in deep water. Minimum age is 15, and guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
