To climb Mt Aspiring is special because it’s the only 3000 m peak outside the Aoraki/Cook and Westland National Parks. It’s one of the few mountains in New Zealand that you can still walk out from, with the glacial recession. You can actually walk in on foot and climb it too. Mt Aspiring changes in character a lot from spring to late summer. It starts off being quite snowy, a snow climb, whereas in late summer you’re climbing almost entirely on rock.
Late summer is the easier time to climb with stable weather. We offer 5-7 day ascents, your own guide and equipment. Just bring a head for heights, some mental stamina and your hiking boots.
Offering two free weather contingency day we give your your best shot at the summit.
