About

The excursion travels passed orchards and vineyards to Te Mata Peak to stop and appreciate the spectacular panoramic views across the Heretunga Plains and on a clear day to the volcanic cone of Mount Ruapehu. The next stop is the boutique Askerne Estate for a comprehensive tasting of their estate grown wines. Generally chardonnay, sauvignon , pinot gris, merlot, syrah, bordeaux blends and a dessert wine are offered for tasting. Your tour guide will provide a selection of local cheeses and biscuits (crackers) to complement the wines. Its back on the minibus & travel back to Napier to observe the Art Deco Villas of Sander Avenue. We then travel up Seapoint Road and stop at your guides property to exclusively observe his colour gardens.
